Position Description

This role creates visibility and accountability of Logistic execution and supplier compliance with the Volvo Group inbound logistical requirements. The Logistic monitor will work directly with internal and external Suppliers, Warehouse Logistic Support, Purchasing, Procurement and Volvo IT.

General Functions:

  • This role requires a complete understanding of supply chain management along with a solid understanding of the warehouse inbound logistical process flow within the material management function. This role also requires the ability to make strategic decisions that will lead to process improvements. Within this role there will be frequent contacts and interaction with other functional groups.

Essential Functions:

  • Monitor internal and external supplier ASN execution within the Volvo Group logistic networks (MACS PROD, MQ, GEBIS)
  • Escalate system defects to the appropriate PSKU
  • Provide daily support as the single point of contact for warehouse personnel
  • Knowledge of (4) critical deliverables (ASN, Bar Code Label, Packing Slip and Packaging)
  • Work effectively with multi-functional teams in a global organization
  • Communicate compliance violations to internal and external supplier base
  • Support MACS Manage Error Que
  • Provide daily support for logistic, purchasing and material control groups
  • Generate and maintain KPI reports
  • Participate in Supplier Day's

  • Applicant must be currently enrolled and pursuing a BS/BA Business/Supply Chain Management degree at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the internship.
  • Fall interns can work up to 30 hours or less per week.
  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75
  • Willingness to learn MACS environment
  • Willingness to learn EDI utilities (Message Tracker)
  • Willingness to learn Volvo Packaging Requirements
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external suppliers
  • Proficient skill in analysis, problem solving and trouble shooting
  • Work effectively with multi-functional teams in a global organization
  • Proven experience setting priorities and working independently

The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
